Background Checks
Protect your business with applicant and employee background checks Unfortunately today’s business economy is seeing a rise in unethical business practices, workplace violence, and misleading resumes. When associated with negligent hiring practices, the consequences can crush the very foundation of a trusted organization. Employers have a responsibility to their businesses, employees, and customers to ensure that who they hire is qualified and does not represent a risk of harm to others. The most effective method of accomplishing this is with a thorough background screening.
Employ thorough background screenings
Without a central location to get background information, multiple systems must be searched to insure a thorough background check of your applicants and employees. Paycom’s background databases have access to over 10 million previously completed searches and 300 million criminal records and growing. These searches include Various Criminal Databases, Social Security Validation, Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch Lists, County Courthouses for Criminal Records, Name and Address Trace, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Credit History, and Motor Vehicle Records.
Automate your background check to hiring process
Choose between instantaneous searches of various databases and/or more thorough investigations of county criminal records, education and employment verification, credit history, and motor vehicle records. Your screening results can be issued with an automatic grade based on pre-set pass/review/fail criteria, or you can choose to inspect and grade each applicant’s results. Current employee background checks can be easily run as well from within the Paycom system. Because we operate from a single-database, once an applicant has been entered for a background check their information does not have to be re-entered if they are hired. A simple click of the Hire button and the information is populated in the payroll system.
Comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
Paycom is committed to helping customers comply with the FCRA. We provide you a Consumer Authorization Form to be signed by an applicant or employee prior to running a background check. You can also easily create Pre-Adverse Action and Adverse Action letters using our system which pre-populates the applicant’s contact information for you. The Pre-Adverse Action letter is to be sent to an applicant if you are considering not hiring them based on the results of their background check. The Adverse Action letter is sent to an applicant after they were not hired based on the results of their background check. Both letters can be customized if needed.
Securely store your background check results
As a member of the National Association of Background Screeners, Paycom is committed to keeping employee background information secure and accessible only to authorized users. Our system security measures include multi-level logins, customized user access levels, fraud detection reports, 128-bit encryption technology, multiple offsite backup locations and 24-7 system monitoring.
