What is the turn-around time for background checks?
Searches of the various criminal databases, Social Security Validation, Sex Offender Registry and the National Security/Terrorist Watch List are instantaneous. More thorough investigations of county criminal records, education and employment verification, credit history, and motor vehicle records can take up to three days.
If someone re-applies, will the background check system catch it?
Yes. The system will pop up a message stating that they have already applied. If they were not hired, it will tell you the reason they were not previously hired. If you wish to re-run their information, you will need to find their previously submitted information, update it, and re-run the background check. Since we do not purge our database, the applicant’s information will stay there indefinitely.
How does this system ensure that we are not exposing the company to additional liabilities?
