Payroll Processing FAQs

How do I get started?

Switching is easy. We do the work. Paycom has successfully converted thousands of businesses to our system. To get started we will need your business' federal and state tax IDs, your W-4 information for active and terminated employees and year-to-date balances. Paycom specialists take it from there. You can convert to Paycom at any point throughout the year and your employees will only receive one W-2 at year end. Complete our Request a Quote form to receive pricing information.

What kind of training do you provide?

We train you at your location when you are ready to run your first payroll. Because our payroll system is so intuitive to use, most users take less than 90 minutes to gain complete command of our system including our report writing functions. After your first payroll, you will have a dedicated payroll specialist you can turn to for any payroll software and payroll tax related questions. We also provide online user manuals for your convenience and additional offsite training for clients.

Do you offer Direct Deposit?

Yes. Your employee's pay can be distributed into multiple accounts at any bank receiving ACH files.

How many earnings and deductions can we have with your system?

Paycom provides our users with unlimited earnings and deductions that can be setup using a percentage or fixed-dollar amount. Paycom also offers effective dating that allows you to set a future start date for an earning or deduction that would otherwise start with your next payroll.

What kinds of reports do you provide?

As your payroll processor, Paycom offers approximately 100 standard reports from which you can chose month-to-date, quarter-to-date and year-to-date amounts that can be sorted by employee, department or region. Example reports include Check Register, General Ledger, and an Unused Deductions Report. Paycom also provides businesses a report writing tool to create custom reports that will pull from any populated field in their database. Payroll reports are available shortly after payroll is processed in pdf or Excel formats for easy incorporation into your accounting software. Custom reports can be run at any time and your reporting criteria can be saved and edited for future use.

What kind of user access is available?

Paycom provides you with full or restricted access for an unlimited number of users. For example, your HR director may need full system access but a department supervisor can be limited to approving employee timesheets for their department. At your discretion, your employees can have access to change their contact and withholding information and your outside accountant can have access to your financial reports.
Because we are web-based, users can access their system in real-time from multiple locations giving them access to timesheets, reports and more from anywhere with an Internet connection.

What do I do if I make a mistake?

Paycom provides a Manuals and Voids function that enables you to easily void the incorrect check and issue a Manual Check that has been calculated and stored by Paycom.

Can we get checks the same day?

Our Manuals and Voids function allows you to print same day checks which can be on your company check stock and the taxes and paperwork will be amended on your next payroll. Paycom's Manual Check function allows you to factor in all earnings and deductions.

How long have you been in business?

Paycom has been in business since 1998 and we process payroll in all 50 states. We are headquartered in Oklahoma City with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Raleigh, NC, Springfield, MO, and Tulsa.

How secure is your system?
